Photos from the Spooky Pooch Parade

Nothing gets me in the mood for Halloween more than seeing dogs dressed up in costumes! Every year the Spooky Pooch Parade in Lakewood is the start of the Halloween season for me and other dog lovers that love to see dogs dressed up in costume.

This year’s Spooky Pooch Parade did not disappoint. All of the dogs brought their A game, coming dressed up in all sorts of fun costumes from Pac Mans to Tree People and Gardeners, Minions, Motorcycle Doggies, a lot of Stars Wars characters, lobsters, spiders, foxes and so many more I probably missed.

Usually I just spectate from the sidelines, but this year I walked in the parade for the first time, but sadly without Hunter and Roscoe. I knew Roscoe would be terrified and Hunter can be a little too much to handle at events where there are a lot of dogs, so I offered to help a friend of mine who was bringing a few of her dogs. Her dogs were all dressed up as Star Wars characters – R2D2, a few Ewoks and Chewbacca. I had the pleasure of walking Chewbacca, also known as Ollie, a cute little Pom that looks a little bit like Hunter, so it was almost like he was there.

Here are some photos from the Parade. Did you go? What were your favorite costumes? Besides the Stars Wars crew, I loved the Pac Man dogs and the Ghostbusters duo.
