What to do in July

I can’t believe tomorrow is July already! The summer is really flying by. Every weekend in July has something for you and your dog, so check out this month’s upcoming dog friendly events:

Annual Dog Days of Summer Dog Wash

July 12

Hosted by Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter and Nature’s Bin, the dog wash will benefit the Lakewood Animal Shelter. The cost is $10 for small dogs, medium to large dogs (20 lbs and up) are $15. Nail trims also available.

Bulldog Days of Summer
July 19

Hosted by PJ McIntyre’s in Cleveland, this event is $20 per person and includes all you can drink/eat draft beer and appetizers. Well-mannered dogs are welcome on the patio. All proceeds from the event benefit Buckeye Bulldog Rescue, and will be used to help us save more bullies in need.

Woodmere Woof & Wag Tailwoof
July 20

The third annual Woof ‘N Wag Tail will be held at the Village Square Shopping Center and will feature rescue groups, pet-product vendors, free dog treats, dog contests, police dog demonstrations and a dog photographer. Gift bags for the first 100 attendees. Proceeds will go to various rescue groups. Events starts at 11 a.m. and goes til 3 p.m.

Mt. Pleasant Dog Days of Summer Dog Hike
July 25

Dogs and their walkers are invited to hike the Mount Pleasant Trail. The shaded, wooded hillside trail is certain to provide relief from July heat. Dogs must be on leashes.

Bark in the Park
July 27

Bring your dog to Classic Park to see the Captains take on the vs. Beloit Snappers. Dog owners can purchase $5 pooch passes for the game and a portion of the proceeds will benefit local animal charities. Visit http://www.milb.com/promotions/index.jsp?sid=t437 for more info.
