Spring is here! April is the month when we finally start seeing a pick up in dog friendly activities and events. Of particular interest this month are two dog friendly walks — including one that is a new dog friendly event to raise money for the American Liver Foundation. Read on for more details:
Paws for a Cause
After receiving inquiries year after year about whether dogs were allowed at the annual Liver Life Walk (they are not), the American Liver Foundation decided to organize a dog friendly event this year. Yay! I love new dog friendly events. The first annual Paws for a Cause on April 25 will raise funds for the American Liver Foundation and will feature a walk, vendor exhibits, demonstrations, raffles, food trucks and more. Vendors/Demonstrators include The Barkley Pet Hotel, Camp Bow Wow, Portraits by Martha, Sit Means Sit Cleveland and more.
Attendees can register for a $20 donation at http://go.liverfoundation.org/site/TR?fr_id=4450&pg=entry
Love-a-Stray Fur Fun 5K and Dog Walk
Whether you’ve been running with your dog or not, you can still take part in Love-a-Stray’s Fur Fun 5K and Walk. Attendees have the option of either running or walking with their dog to raise funds for the Avon-based animal rescue group. The event will be held on April 26 at Avon High School and will include raffles and prizes.
Pre-registration for the walk or 5K is recommended. Visit http://www.loveastraydog.com/events/love-a-stray-fur-fun-5k-dog-walk/9841 to register.
Also this month – although not dog friendly is the Cleveland Animals Bar Crawl on April 18.Read more about that here: http://dogsinthecle.com/save-the-date-2nd-annual-cleveland-animals-bar-crawl/
Keep an eye on the calendar for more dog friendly events (and let me know if I’m missing any!)
