From the crowning of the Dyngus Day Dog to an appearance by a social media celebrity, Monday is turning out to be a big day in the Cleveland dog world.
First up, the annual Dyngus Day Parade, a Polish tradition that celebrates the end of the observance of Lent, will feature a dog parade as part of its celebrations. Secondhand Mutts will be hosting the parade and will crown one lucky dog “Dyngus Dog 2014.” The event will be held at Kishka’s Beer Heaven Tent on Detroit Avenue and West 58th Street starting at 4 p.m. Dogs are expected to be dressed up in all sorts of fun Polish-themed costumes, like pierogies and sausages so it should be pretty great. I hope to share some pictures with you of the event next week – so stay tuned!
Also on Monday, the Cleveland APL will be welcoming Tuna of “Tuna Melts My Heart” fame for a meet and greet at their facilities. Tuna, a social media sensation, is teaming up with BarkBox or a TUNA TOUR around the U.S., stopping in eight cities for meet and greets. Plan to get there early- parking at the APL is limited. And of course, don’t forget your camera!
